Music Theory and Composition

I’ve taught basic and advanced undergraduate music theory courses from Music Fundamentals to Advanced Analysis, as well as having designed theory curricula for a Bachelor of Music program and a Bachelor of Arts program.

My composition students have won awards and gone on to graduate programs at Longy School of Music, The University of Oregon, Seattle Film Institute and Manhattan School of Music. Others have gone into music ministry, work as teachers and as film, video and game composers.

Other Courses

In addition to teaching music courses, I’ve also helped design a number of interdisciplinary courses, including one I’m currently teaching at George Fox University. I have also instituted and taught Introduction to Music Technology courses at two universities, and served as a consultant to the University System of Georgia for developing online courses.
