Two Intermezzos

Commissioned in 2016 by Portland Piano International for its Rising Star artist Sahun Hong, these two pieces are an homage to Johannes Brahms’ intricate counterpoint. This work was selected as a Semifinalist for the 2018 American Prize in Chamber Music.

Hymns from the Sacred Harp

Composed for my Women’s Chorale at George Fox University, this work is a re-imagining for women’s voices and solo violin of three Southern hymns: On Jordan’s Stormy Banks I Stand, My Shepherd will Supply My Need, and Hark! The Glad Sound. This work was named a Semifinalist for The American Prize 2019 in Choral Music.
